G9KA-E High-Capacity Power Relay Winner of Electronic Products' 2023 Product of the Year Awards - Praised for significant advances in technology and applications and design innovation -

OMRON Corporation (Headquarters: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, President & CEO: Junta Tsujinaga) is pleased to announce that its G9KA-E high-capacity power relay won the 2023 Product of the Year Awards in the electromechanical category, sponsored by the U.S. technology magazine Electronic PRODUCTS^*1.

The 2023 Product of the Year Awards are awarded by the editors of Electronic Products based on significant advances in technology and applications, design innovations, and price and performance improvements among thousands of products.

The G9KA-E has improved heat dissipation performance by devising terminal shape and bottom height. It is the first relay for printed circuit boards ^*2 in the industry to be energized by 300 A and has an ultra-contact resistance (low heat generation) of 0.2 mΩ or less, which is the highest in the industry ^*3. This reduces the temperature rise of the substrate due to heat generated by the relay itself and can be used in a variety of devices that contribute to accelerating the spread of renewable energy toward the realization of a carbon-neutral society, such as distributed power conditioners and EV fast chargers, stationary power storage systems (ESS), and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
